1. About Cold Retro

These terms apply to every visit to coldretro.com and to every order you place with Cold Retro through our online store. Cold Retro is a Dutch fashion brand that designs and sells retro-inspired ski and snowboard jackets.

2. Using our website

You may use our website to look at our products, read information and place orders. Please do not misuse the website, for example by trying to access parts that are not public, interfering with its operation or using it for anything unlawful.

You can check your orders through a customer account. You sign in with your email address and a one-time code sent to that address. Keep access to your email account secure.

3. Products and product information

Cold Retro – Edition 001 is a unisex retro ski & snowboard jacket that is currently in development and sold as a pre-order.

The product and campaign images on our website are design visualisations, not photos of a finished sample. Colours, details and proportions may change during sampling and production.

Our development targets for the jacket are a minimum of 15,000 mm waterproofing and a breathability of 10,000–15,000 g/m²/24h. These are development targets, not independently verified test results. We will publish final specifications once they have been confirmed.

The jacket you receive must conform to our agreement with you. If it does not, your statutory rights apply (see “Defective products and legal guarantee”).

4. Placing an order

You place an order by choosing your size and payment option, completing checkout and paying the amount due at checkout. Before you pay, the product page and your bag show the full jacket price, the amount due now and any remaining balance. Checkout then shows the amount due now, shipping costs and the payment methods available.

Your contract with Cold Retro is concluded once your payment at checkout has been completed and you receive our order confirmation by email. Please check the confirmation and contact us if something is not correct.

5. Prices

All prices are in euros and include Dutch VAT. Shipping costs are not included and are shown separately at checkout before you pay.

Full jacket price: €295.
Pay in full now: €265.50 (10% off the jacket price; the discount does not apply to shipping).
Pay a deposit: €50 now and €245 later, €295 in total, without discount.

The price confirmed for your order is the price you pay. We do not increase the price of an order after it has been placed. If a price on our website is obviously wrong (for example a clear typing error), we will contact you before processing the order and you may cancel it free of charge.

6. Payment methods

The payment methods available for your payment are shown at the checkout or on the payment page of the payment link concerned, before you pay. Card payments are processed by Shopify Payments; Cold Retro does not receive or store your full card details. If you use another payment method, that provider’s own terms may also apply.

If you choose the deposit, you pay €50 at checkout. When your jacket is ready to ship, we email you a payment link for the remaining €245 on your original order. Nothing is charged automatically and your payment details are not stored for this. You choose: pay the remaining €245 with that link and we then ship your jacket, or let us know by email at info@coldretro.com that you prefer to receive your jacket first and pay the remaining €245 within 14 days after delivery with the same link. No extra shipping costs are added. No balance is requested for a cancelled order, and the balance is only charged once; a reminder uses the same payment link.

7. Pre-orders

Edition 001 is sold as a pre-order: the jacket is not ready to ship when you order it. Our Pre-Order Terms explain how pre-orders work, including the first production run and what happens if the minimum is not reached. They form part of these terms.

Our first production run requires at least 50 paid jacket pre-orders by 15 November 2026 at 23:59 CET (Dutch time).

Paid deposit pre-orders and fully paid pre-orders both count.
Each jacket counts once: two jackets in one order count as two.
Cancelled, refunded, unpaid and test orders do not count.
Paying the remaining balance later does not count as a second jacket.

If the minimum is not reached, the affected orders will be cancelled and all payments received will be refunded, including any shipping charges. If the minimum is reached, pre-orders will remain open after this date.

8. Shipping and delivery

Expected delivery for Edition 001 is January 2027. This is an estimate that depends on sampling, production and transport. We will keep you informed if the expected timing changes.

The countries we deliver to and the shipping costs are shown at checkout. The jacket remains at our risk until it has been delivered to you.

If we do not deliver within the expected period, you can give us a reasonable additional period to deliver. If we still do not deliver within that period, you may cancel the contract and we will refund all payments made, including shipping costs. You keep this right even if the delay is caused by our suppliers.

9. Cancelling a pre-order

You can cancel your pre-order free of charge before production officially starts. Payments already made are refunded in full, and if you paid a deposit, the remaining payment obligation ends. We will inform you by email when production has officially started.

You can cancel through our Returns & Cancellations page or by emailing info@coldretro.com with your order number. After production has started, your legal right of withdrawal still applies (see below).

10. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the EU you have the right to withdraw from your purchase without giving any reason. You can do this from the moment you place your order until 14 days after the day you (or someone you nominate) received the jacket. If one order is delivered in several parts, the 14 days start when you receive the last part.

To withdraw, use the form on our Returns & Cancellations page, email us at info@coldretro.com, or send us the model withdrawal form available to download on that page. A clear statement is enough; you do not need to give a reason. We will confirm receipt of your withdrawal.

After telling us that you withdraw, you have 14 days to send the jacket back. You pay the direct cost of returning the jacket, unless the jacket is defective or not what you ordered.

You may handle the jacket as you would in a shop to check its size, look and quality. If you use it more than that and its value goes down as a result, we may deduct that loss of value from your refund, in line with the applicable rules.

11. Returns

Register your return first through our Returns & Cancellations page or by emailing info@coldretro.com with your order number, so we can match it to your order.

Use a traceable shipping method and keep your proof of shipment.

12. Refunds

When you withdraw, we refund all payments received from you, including the standard delivery costs you paid, within 14 days of the day you told us you are withdrawing. We may wait with the refund until we have received the jacket back or you have shown proof that you sent it, whichever happens first.

We refund using the payment method you used, unless you explicitly agree to another method. You will not pay any fees for the refund. If you chose a more expensive delivery method than our cheapest standard option, we only need to refund the cost of the standard option.

If you cancel a pre-order before production starts, or the minimum for the first production run is not reached, we refund all payments received, including any shipping charges.

13. Defective products and legal guarantee

The jacket must conform to our agreement: it must have the qualities you may expect based on our description and its normal use. This statutory guarantee applies in addition to any voluntary guarantee and cannot be limited by these terms.

If your jacket is defective or not what you ordered, please contact us at info@coldretro.com. You are entitled to a suitable solution free of charge, such as repair or replacement, or, where that is not possible or reasonable, a price reduction or termination of the contract with a refund. If you report a defect within two months of discovering it, you have always reported it in time.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

14. Customer information

Please give correct and complete information when ordering, including your name, email address and delivery address, so we can process and deliver your order and keep you informed. How we handle your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Intellectual property

The Cold Retro name, logo, jacket designs, images and texts on our website are owned by Cold Retro or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce or use them commercially without our written permission. Sharing links to our website is always welcome.

16. Third-party services and links

Our online store runs on Shopify. Checkout and payments, including the payment link for a remaining balance, are handled through Shopify and the payment providers connected to it. When you use a payment method such as PayPal, that provider’s own terms may also apply.

Our website may contain links to websites of others. We are not responsible for the content of those websites.

17. Website availability and errors

We do our best to keep our website available and the information on it correct and up to date. Even so, the website may sometimes be unavailable or contain errors. Obvious errors do not bind us; if an error affects your order, we will contact you and you may cancel free of charge.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it, including liability for intent or gross negligence and your statutory consumer rights.

18. Privacy and cookies

We process personal information in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are, including how we use cookies.

19. Complaints and customer support

Questions or complaints? Email us at info@coldretro.com. Please describe the issue clearly and include your order number.

If we cannot resolve your complaint together, you can submit the dispute to the competent court (see “Applicable law”).

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when our services or the law change. The version that applied when you placed your order applies to that order. Changes never apply retroactively to orders already placed. The date at the top shows when these terms were last updated.

21. Applicable law

These terms and all orders are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.

Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. As a consumer you may also bring a dispute before the court of your place of residence where the law allows this.
